The Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Borjana Krišto, has been awarded the “Friend of Journalists” Gold Order, established by the international “My Azerbaijan” magazine, in recognition of her services to the development of freedom of speech and freedom of the press in society, as well as her contribution to strengthening relations with international media groups.
The award was presented to the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Borjana Krišto, by the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief and Academician of the International Academy of Sciences, Emil Nasirli, during a meeting held at the administrative building of the Council of Ministers in the city of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the meeting, E. Nasirli noted that the “My Azerbaijan” magazine which stands out for its distinctive style in the country’s print media, has been bringing interesting and substantive articles to its readers for more than 22 years. The magazine’s team has worked diligently and made significant efforts to convey Azerbaijan’s voice to readers around the world. As a result, the monthly “My Azerbaijan” magazine has gained a broad readership not only throughout the republic but also in various countries around the world.
Speaking subsequently about the current level of relations between the two countries, Emil Nasirli emphasized that relations between the countries have been expanding in the economic and political spheres. Recalling with satisfaction the official visit of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Editor-in-Chief Emil Nasirli noted that a Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership between the two countries was signed during the visit. He stressed that Azerbaijan has carried out all the work arising from the requirements of this document and has made its contribution to cooperation.
Emphasizing that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a close friend and partner of Azerbaijan and that historical ties exist between the two countries, Editor-in-Chief Emil Nasirli stated that the partnership between Azerbaijan and Bosnia and Herzegovina is developing on the basis of the principles of solidarity and mutual respect.
E. Nasirli noted that the two countries actively cooperate within international organizations and emphasized that their political relations are also at a good level. He recalled with satisfaction that, even during the Soviet period, Baku and Sarajevo were sister cities, noting that at that time numerous delegations from Sarajevo visited Azerbaijan and an exhibition was also organized. E. Nasirli noted the existence of significant potential for expanding economic cooperation and expressed hope that reciprocal visits by officials of both countries would also contribute to strengthening the bilateral legal and treaty framework.
During the meeting, Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Borjana Krišto, expressed her gratitude to the Editorial Board of the magazine for deeming her worthy of this award and highly appreciated the work carried out by the Azerbaijani side toward strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries.
During the exchange of views, Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Borjana Krišto, stated that, of course, as Mr. Nasirli had noted, the two countries are friendly states. “We should work to strengthen our bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of economy and tourism. There is great potential for expanding relations between our countries in various areas, including energy, transport, infrastructure, investment, tourism and other sectors,” Borjana Krišto said.
The meeting emphasized the existence of friendly and partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the successful cooperation and mutual support of the two countries within international organizations were highly appreciated.
During the discussion, an exchange of views was held on information exchange between the media organizations of the two countries, as well as cooperation in the energy sector and the expansion of economic and trade relations. It was stated that high-level reciprocal visits and contacts would continue in the future.
